Security Solutions Engineer

Role Summary

The Solution Engineer / Developer is accountable to support the Information Security Risk and Compliance (ISRC) group in two core functions for the enterprise:

• The development, maintenance and enhancement of custom dashboards/portals.

• Ensure the stable operations of various security solutions utilized by the ISRC.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance / support of framework used to present reports to business groups.

Monitoring / maintenance of systems used to deliver, and consume, data from other groups, partners, and vendors (databases, API programming, scripting)

Interpret logs / reports and work with the appropriate teams if a solution is needed

Participate in investigations relating to suspicious activity.

Provide on-call support for IT management for security solutions used in Magna.

Maintenance / support of End Point Protection solution used by Magna.

Responsible for special projects as assigned by management

Provide feedback to improve Magna's overall enterprise security

Stay current on security trends (solutions, processes, attacks, threat-vectors...)

Key Qualifications/Requirements

College degree or comparable work experience.

Working technical knowledge of:

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., php, python, bash)

Knowledge of relational databases and experience using mySQL

Detailed knowledge of RESTful web services (API)

Good understanding of the operation of web applications and basic web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, apache)

Advanced Proficient knowledge of web frameworks (i.e. Django, flask, bootstrap…)

Experience with:

Microsoft Office product suite

General knowledge of Cloud platforms

SIEM technologies

General networking and CyberSecurity knowledge

Linux and Microsoft Operating Systems

Analytical and problem-solving abilities

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks

Highly self-motivated and directed

Keen attention to detail

Additional Information

On-call availability and occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.

Must be available to travel internationally on an occasional basis.
