Field Applications Scientist

This position will serve as a multifaceted Field Application Scientist to facilitate seamless implementation of EUROIMMUN instruments, kits, and other products in customers’ laboratories, with a focus on laboratory software and networking. Excellent technical and communication skills are needed to positively interact with customers and company personnel in English, while French is an asset. Successful candidates will be self-starters who can independently manage their time and schedules, and who possess basic business, hands-on, and software acumen.

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Maintain a working knowledge of EUROIMMUN instrumentation, products, and techniques,

staying current with system changes and updates.

• Coordinate pre-site and pre-delivery inspections, installation, and training in conjunction with

business team and customers.

• Aide the logistics department to arrange shipping of instrument, kits, and samples.

• Coordinate with field service engineers and assist (as necessary) with instrument installations

and troubleshooting.

• Assist customer with validation studies including protocol definition, sample acquisition, sample

testing, and data evaluation.

• Ensure assay programming is complete and functional, communicate with EUROIMMUN AG for

any additional assay programming or troubleshooting, complaints handling, etc.

• Liaise with customer’s IT teams during laboratory information system interfacing.

• Assist in conducting educational sessions on equipment and products.

• Provide application support to all company departments.

• Follow documentation procedures for all project and service tasks (network maps, completed

customer work orders, training confirmations, customer workflows, etc.).

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Comply with all safety and

regulatory requirements.

• Assist business team with Request for Purchase paperwork and perform presale consultations on

planned instrumentation and systems. Liaise with EUROIMMUN AG for all necessary

instrument registration.

• Overnight travel as needed (40-50%).

Requirements

• Bachelors’ degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, or a technical discipline.

• 1-2 years' experience in running IVD assays and/or a basic understanding thereof.

• 3 or more years’ experience as a field service representative, MLT, or related field preferred.

• Bilingual in French preferred.

• Experience with client-server infrastructure (for HL7/ASTM connectivity) preferred.

• Strong computer skills in MS office. Computer literate and can quickly learn software interfaces.

• Well-organized, able to function independently with minimal supervision.

• Excellent time management during concurrent projects.

• Comfortable presenting training and information seminars to groups.

• Strong professional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Possesses exemplar critical thinking abilities.

• Enthusiastic demeanor and a can-do attitude.
