Summary of the position:
The Air Compressor Sales and Support Specialist works jointly with customers and engineering to ensure the highest quality and most reliable system is provided for the application. This role acts as a technical resource between customers and engineering. Working as part of a cross functional team, the Air Compressor Sales and Support Specialist fields general equipment inquiries (phone & email), technical questions, and special pricing requests. The candidate will routinely coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and provide customer focused input to the team for success in the market.
Duties and responsibilities:
Work with internal and external Product Management, Commercial, and Engineering teams to develop specialty equipment proposals
Assist customers with sizing air compressors, air dryers, air filters
Help customers compare various product offerings and articulate technology and product positioning
Respond to functional and technical elements of RFQs
Provide technical sales support to customers
Maintain a high level of product and application knowledge
Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives
Maintain professional business relationships with all customers
Travel 5-10% in North America to customer sites and facilities
Qualifications:
Maintain professional business relationships with all customers
High energy, customer centric candidates that have entry level understanding of air compressors or similar rotating equipment assemblies
Customer friendly personality a plus
Education:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred, but not required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
Professional experience:
Strong interpersonal communication skills to work cross-functionally on product issue resolution
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong customer focus with a demonstrated ability to develop relationships and interface with customers on critical technical matters
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
Multitasking capability
Technical aptitude to quickly and efficiently gather, understand, condense, and organize information necessary to make informed engineering decisions
Ability to communicate clearly using both written and verbal methods
Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organizations including both internal and external customers
Knowledge of oil-flooded screw, oil- free screw, and centrifugal compressed air systems preferred
Strong analytical abilities and technical knowledge of systems and controls
