Overview:
The Lead is primarily responsible for scheduling and coordinating the flow of work within or between the departments of the distribution center to expedite on-time delivery and quality by performing their essential duties and responsibilities. This position must demonstrate a positive, professional image and attitude to all team members and staff. This position also requires a comprehensive understanding of all operating systems and operational processes.

Position Functions:
Takes necessary procedures in the event of an environmental incident or injury in the workplace and has basic understand OSHA guidelines, I&I rate, recordable, near miss, first aid
Ability to identify proper PPE for job and drives accountability with team member usage of PPE
Ability to interpret process flow and applicable specifications, work instructions and planning used in distribution
Understands audit process, importance of open reporting, conformance and functionality of any equipment and/or tooling and makes or suggests changes for improvement
General awareness of site’s end customer and supply base
Basic exposure to and understanding of LSS tools, and DMAIC fundamentals
Visibility to Inventory Op Plan and performance; can define the difference between raw, WIP and finished goods
Visibility to operations plan and weekly performance; able to correlate results to goals.
Demonstrate understanding of how to formulate UPH/CPH targets based on historical data and familiarity with the definition and components of VCPU
Recognizes the difference between material and conversion cost productivity
Knows of general business and financial planning processes such as difference between gross & operating margins
Participates in the sites daily production meetings & supports leading shift start-up meetings and leads ergonomic program
Knowledge of the critical path for material flow through entire process for retail, DTC & RTV
Demonstrates logistics knowledge, truck routes of when/where parts will be entering and departing facility
Knows how to calculate productivity & inputs to calculating needed headcount
Knows what the risks are when making a delivery commitment to the customer
Navigates through the sites ERP systems
Has basic understanding of WM with ability to troubleshoot for current role
Demonstrates an understanding of various operational functions and how they interact with one another
Realizes the importance of employee relations through effective communication
Recognize the criticality of gaining buy-in from the team before making big changes
Awareness of the teaming culture being led within current facility and across the supply chain and understands business impact of a positive teaming culture

Physical Demands:

Required to stand (stationary position) during scheduled hours. Hours usually include weekends, evenings and holidays in conjunction with labor regulations
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate using various methods
Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling and moving weights of 0-25 pounds constantly and 25-40 pounds occasionally and over 40 pounds seldomly with or without assistance as needed
Ability to move up to 40 pounds at least 25 feet in distance occasionally with assistance as needed
Based on business necessity associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that require different physical demands
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
One year experience working within the distribution center, preferred
Yellow belt 6-sigma certification preferred
Educated in basic lean concepts preferred
Previous knowledge of automated DC Systems and current RF technology preferred
Comprehensive experience working with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
Teamwork and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with different levels within the organization
Ability to learn and retain a comprehensive understanding of all operating systems and processes
Ability to read, write, operate computer, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required
Understand how to de-escalate situations with conflict management techniques
Ability to provide constructive & timely feedback
Take initiative to develop own skills & competencies
Work Environment:
This position works in a warehouse setting, with limited outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, rf scanner, computer, and tape dispensers. Based on business necessity associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that require different physical demands.
Benefits:
The compensation range is $20.00 p/hr - $25.00 p/hr. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position. Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
