Geographic Information Systems Analyst

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our dynamic team. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for utilizing geographic information systems (GIS) technology to analyze spatial data, produce maps, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making processes within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect, compile, and analyze geographic data from a variety of sources, including satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and field surveys.

Create and maintain digital databases and maps using GIS software.

Perform spatial analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships in the data.

Produce high-quality maps, charts, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Conduct quality assurance and validation checks to ensure accuracy and integrity of GIS data.

Stay updated on emerging GIS technologies and industry trends to continuously improve processes and methodologies.

Desired Skills:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geography, GIS, environmental science, or a related field.

Proven experience working with GIS software such as ArcGIS, or similar platforms.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex spatial data.

Proficiency in database management and data manipulation techniques.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and reliable results.

Experience with programming languages such as Python or R is a plus.

Knowledge of remote sensing techniques and applications is desirable.
