The Ohio Department of Development is currently seeking an Weatherization Manager in our Office of Community Enhancements. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and budgeting energy efficient programs to help reduce energy costs to eligible Ohioans. The Weatherization Manager works directly with the Deputy Chief, grantees, funders, and other stakeholders to help deliver Housing Weatherization Assistance Programs across Ohio.

What you'll do:

Provides work direction to staff in areas of administration, coordination and implementation of energy programs.

Trains and supervises technical monitors who monitor compliance for and evaluate weatherization programs.

Executes and implements U.S. Department of Energy (i.e., DOE) and applicable State of Ohio policies and procedures to ensure grantee compliance.

Advises CSD leadership on matters relating to energy efficiency programs.

Coordinates with OCE fiscal section on matters pertaining to sub-grants.

Travels as necessary to provide sub-grantees with technical assistance.

Directs development of annual HWAP State Plan.

Directs development of competitive request for proposals and oversees evaluation of proposals submitted.

Conducts annual HWAP public hearing and ensures that all required program reporting requirements are met.

Oversees implementation of OCE plan for Ohio Weatherization Training Center.

1. Experience in Home Weatherization Assistance Program administration or implementation.

2. Previous supervisory experience and strong managerial skills required.

3. Building technology (e.g., heating, cooling, ventilation) experience preferred.

4. Completion of Inspector Series courses or, completion of Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certification Test for inspectors or, Home Energy Rater Certificate preferred.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

6. PC proficiency in using word processing and spreadsheet software.

7. Must possess valid driver's license and be able to travel to various sites around Ohio and occasionally outside of Ohio.
