Seeking an ambitious and highly skilled Key Account Manager to build strong corporate relationships while leading all new business development activities for strategic accounts within a multi-state region. The Key Account Manager will provide specialty additive solutions and raw chemical materials used to formulate engine oil, hydraulic oil, gear oil, transmission fluid, industrial lubricants, grease, aftermarket additives, and other specialty lubricants. Target customers will include lubricant manufacturers, toll blenders, private label blenders, lubricant component users, aftermarket blenders, and grease manufacturers located in the Midwest and Northeast US. This is a lucrative opportunity to join a well-established and growing specialty chemical company with 30 years of top-tier performance in the downstream O&G industry.

Compensation includes an attractive base salary, uncapped monthly sales commissions, annual profit-sharing bonus, company car, comprehensive benefits, and 401-K match.

Essential Job Functions include:

Generate new sales growth within the lubricant additive product line by targeting strategic customers within the region.

Expand business through new and existing corporate accounts.

Collaborate with Regional Account Mangers to build local tactical sales plans for lubricant additives at key national accounts within their territories.

Develop target account strategies and sales plans to capture competitively held business.

Share best practices within key accounts to promote consistency of local sales/service.

Communicate sales progress and key customer contacts via central CRM database.

Remain current on industry developments, competitors, and emerging trends.

Work from a home office and travel 50% to drive new sales growth.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

B.S. in Chemistry, Science, Business, Marketing, or related field.

12+ years of technical sales experience selling lubricant additive packages, specialty lubricants, and/or other petroleum additive products is required.

Industry experience and understanding of customers within the lubricant blending market space.

Strong competitive drive with consistent track record of high sales achievements and new business growth.

Consultative problem-solving selling skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Experience selling to lubricant manufacturers, private label blenders, toll blenders, aftermarket additive manufacturers, or grease manufacturers.

Knowledge of lubricant additive components such as viscosity index improves, corrosion inhibitors, friction modifiers, dispersants, polyalphaolefins, tackifiers, extreme pressure, antiwear, polybutene, etc. is required.

Highly organized, detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task.

Skilled in using a CRM database to manage customer accounts, contacts, sales pipeline, meeting notes, and call reports.

Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.

Competency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% or more at times as needed.
