About the team

The Command Center team is a 24x7 team operating from Pune and Bangalore. The team consist of Mainframe Command Center, Open Systems Command Center and Batch Scheduling. It is a Level 1 monitoring team that monitors all data centers across the globe. The team monitors alerts, job abends, raises tickets, takes level 1 remediation steps and escalates to the issues to Level 2 teams. With the recent acquisition of Worldpay, this team will also be at the forefront of integrating activities of our combined organization.

Typically requires 2+ Years relative experience in Mainframe Batch & Console operations

What you will be doing:

Responsible for mainframe systems and batch monitoring using scheduling tools Control-M, TWS/OPC, Zeke, CA7.Monitor / Manage z/OS consoles and online CICS and IMS Regions

Provides Level 1 and Level 2 support for client-facing systems and applications, as it relates to the mainframe environment.

Response to WTORS

Pre IPL and Post IPL process

Start and Stop IMS Databases

Working with subsystem commands like CICS, DB2, IMS commands(Start/Stop commands, Hot/Cold restarts, etc).

Ensuring Key Critical Jobs Start and Complete on Time.

Monitor Operating System thresholds (memory utilization, CPU utilization, data storage space, etc,)

Fixing the abends related to Space Issue, JCLERR, etc

Checking for outstanding transaction abend messages in Console

What you bring:

Familiarity with z/OS environment – MVS, JES2, ISPF, Utilities, JCL, DDF, Netview

Familiarity with Omegamon & Omegaview for CICS, DB2, Performance Monitor and alert panels

Familiarity of transmission protocols – FTP, NDM/ConnectDirect, XCOM

Familiarity with job scheduling software – Control M/D/R, TWS/OPC, Zeke, CA7

Knowledge of standard operational practices for batch application support

Skill in controlling processing through central console commands

Initiating and participating in bridge calls for Sev 1/2 incidents

Participating in Disaster recovery Demonstrations Outlined by the Clients.

Good Knowledge on Hardware Management console

Taking precautionary plans to avoid sev1 and sev 2 issues to meet the SLA

Escalating problems when necessary as prescribed by SOPs

Maintain logs for Shift Turn over

Stop BMP’s and looping transactions in IMS Regions

Skill in maintaining a continuous production level and meeting service level agreements

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public
