Job Summary- The Laborer must have a great deal of drive, motivation, discipline, confidence, and the ability to work independently. You must be deadline-oriented with strong assessment and planning skills along with knowledge of telecommunications networks.

Responsibilities:

All phases of telecommunication construction include but are not limited to: Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.

Hand dig using shovel, mechanical tools.

Installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling.

Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.

Working in congested or remote areas.

Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.

Perform general construction work under direction of Foreman/Supervisor.

Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.

Learn all aspects of crew and assist the operator and foreman as assigned.

Setup, preparation, and cleanup of construction sites.

Develop an understanding of buried utilities.

Lift heavy equipment and supplies

Qualifications & Skills:

Good verbal and written communications skills.

Ability to prepare written and oral reports.

Ability to read, understand, and prepare drawings, diagrams, and other documents.

Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Attention to detail.

Basic knowledge of:

Telco/power engineering and construction principles & practices.

Fiber, Copper, and COAX design and drafting.

CDL Class A Preferred

Candidates must pass Criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check and a pre-employment drug screen.

Authorization to work in the US.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be subject to adverse conditions such as high humidity, high temperatures, high wind, extreme cold, rain, sleet, and snow. The outside work environment will vary throughout the workday including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings and/or rural settings.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
