Private Duty Nurse (LPN)

Description:

V-Tech is seeking Private Duty Nurses (LPNs) to provide personalized medical care to patients in their homes or in private settings. The incumbent will work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that the patient's medical needs are met with compassion and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Basic Assessment

- Perform basic health assessments

- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the RN or physician

Medication Administration

- Administer medications (excluding IV in many states)

- Monitor and document patient responses to medications

Routine Procedures

- Conduct routine procedures such as catheter care, tube feedings, and dressing changes

- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility

Collaboration

- Work under the supervision of an RN or physician

- Communicate patient needs and observations to supervising healthcare providers

Patient Care

- Provide basic nursing care and comfort to patients

- Educate patients and families on care needs under the guidance of an RNRequirements:

Licensed Practical Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland

Previous experience in home healthcare, hospital nursing, or a related field preferred

Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Compassionate and empathetic attitude toward patients and families

CPR certification and other relevant certifications may be required

Working Conditions:

Work hours may vary depending on patient needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Exposure to potentially infectious diseases and hazardous materials

Physical demands may include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Travel to patients' homes or other private locations required
