Description:

Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner needed for Gastroenterology practice in South Ogden, Utah.

Duties:

Conduct physical exams, assess health status, order and interprets tests, prescribe medications, and treat illnesses.

Consult with physician as needed and refer to physicians for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA's or NP's scope of work.

Triage and evaluate patient problems.

Counsel patient/family on preventive health care.

Review patient records, interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed in conjunction with the physician or under the direction of a physician.

Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care.

Interview and advises patient regarding health and illness prevention; instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.Requirements:

For Physician Assistants - bachelor's degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program; national certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; current state PA license.

For Nurse Practitioners - BSN required, MSN preferred; successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program.
