CLAIMS SPECIALIST
Job description- The purpose of this position is to ensure that all aspects of the medical billing process are performed accurately and in a timely manner specifically with Work Comp claims.
Job functions-Maintain insurance accounts receivable.
-Review insurance payments, zero pay vouchers, and contractual adjustments as necessary to ensure appropriate reimbursement of accounts
-Maintains accurate documents and reports following established procedures and policies
Qualifications
-High School Diploma required
-At least 2 years of experience in a health care billing environment
-Exceptional typing/data entry skills
-Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding from a reimbursement perspective
-Familiar with explanation of benefits and payment posting
-Familiar with all types of insurance, specifically Work Comp
-Must have good math skills
-Knowledge of Excel and Word
Hours: M - F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with flexibility for staying later or coming in earlier if needed
