Quality Engineer

Location: Tecumseh, MI (40 minutes south of Ann Arbor, MI / 45 minutes north of Toledo, MI)
Pay Rate: $60-$75k

Position Summary :
The Quality Engineer will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all manufacturing processes to meet short and long-range plans using the most economical and productive methods. Implement changes and improvements that will maximize safety, quality, and productivity. The Quality Engineer is to implement effective quality controls, teach production staff how to use them and supervise outcomes. The Quality Engineer will design automated testing systems and quality control workflows to improve the efficiency of the quality assurance process. The Quality Engineer will collect data about instances of product errors and investigate possible solutions by troubleshooting the manufacturing or design process, implement and drive quality initiatives through lean methodologies focused on increased throughput and minimizing system waste. Position Responsibilities :
Determine the best options for process improvement tactics
Train employees on new manufacturing practices
Analyze output under new practices
Promote efficiency and safety in the plant
Perform data analysis to lead improvement project work.
Continually search for best practices and innovative solutions to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and workforce utilization
Works with all departments to maximize business process optimization by eliminating waste to increase efficiency and productivity for all direct and indirect manufacturing processes
Troubleshoots production machines and develops plans to reduce machine downtime and replacement costs
Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining company quality standards
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives
Monitor operations and trigger corrective action
Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity standards, metrics, and performance targets
Recommend improvements for area products and processes Position Requirements :
2-3 years' experience with ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Trained and/or 2 years plus years experience leading and/or being involved with Continuous Improvement & Kaizen projects.
Trained with 3 plus years of experience with AIAG core tools.
Experience working with suppliers. supplier scorecards, evals, supplier audits.
Internal and or external audit experience.
Read and understand blueprints and along with CADD inspection reports.
Microsoft Office Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word skills
Experience with ERP systems (i.e.: Epicor, E2, Plex, etc.)
Ability to work independently or in a group setting.
Self-Driven. & Organized.
Knowledge of tooling & molding A PLUS
Experience & knowledge of GD&T A PLUS
Knowledge & experience with SolidWorks A PLUS GTA Questions :

REFERRAL BONUS PROGRAM:
If you are able to refer a person we do hire, we can offer up to $250 for contractors after they are on the job for 90 days and up to $500 for direct hires after they are on the job between 90 days to 180 days, depending on customer payment terms.
