Position Overview
Calian is seeking a Senior Technician to assist our client with the facilitation of their project.
Responsibilities
Repair and overhaul Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN) antennas and Antenna Control Units in accordance with Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTO) available on site
Read and modify electronic schematics relating to each project
Perform antenna balancing in accordance with CFTO
Ensure antenna serviceability using the TACAN Antenna Test Range
Prepare and complete technical documentation
Provide technical assistance to field technicians relating to each project
Travel to repair and install equipment relating to each project, as required
Prepare antennas and equipment for shipping relating to each project
Participate in health and safety procedures, and training relating to each project
Other unforeseen tasks that may arise relating to the resource’s area of expertise
Qualifications
Must currently hold a valid Secret (Level II) Clearance with the Government of Canada
5+ years of experience of technical faultfinding and demonstrated knowledge of any Tactical Air Navigational System within the last 10 years OR have a qualification on a TACAN system
5+ years of experience within the last 10 years performing PM and CM on the TACAN AN/GRN-516
5+ years of experience within the last 10 years performing TACAN AN/GRN-516 Maintenance and Support at levels 1, 2 and 3
5+ years of experience within the last 10 years evaluating tests and performance of TACAN AN/GRN-516
5+ years of experience within the last 10 years working on the TACAN AN/GRN-516 including working with analog, digital and RF electronics, applying TACAN knowledge in order to guide and support sites with TACAN AN/GRN-516 Maintenance and Support, and performing specialized TACAN AN/GRN-516 Maintenance and Support maintenance tasks, such as replacement of rotary joints
