The Manager Investments Bespoke Solutions works directly under the Value Stream Manager Investments and Data Technology and is a member of the Investments and Data Technology Management Team.

In the Investments & Data Technology department, the Investments Bespoke Solutions (IBS) team creates custom applications to support our main investments business processes. Every day, the technologies developed by IBS developed systems handle millions of euros. Some examples are applications for instrument ranking, investment portfolio rebalancing and investment opportunity assessment.

Position & Requirements

IBS is constantly improving its technology and way of working. We currently have 4 scrum teams and try to be as Agile as possible. This means that we follow a DevOps approach. New applications are deployed in Azure and are designed to be cloud native. Microservice architecture is combined with concepts like Domain Driven Design and principles such as CQRS and Event Sourcing. We use APIs to expose data to other teams or within modern Vue.js web frontends. Automated testing is an essential part of our development strategy.

The team has about 20 software engineers who have successfully built several key applications in the past few years. Our infratrucructure/integration architect with focus on cloud solutions helps the scrumteams to work as independently as possible.

Key responsibilities

Creating custom software solutions according to specifications/schedule/budget (planning, coordination, managing dependencies, etc.) in close collaboration with the solution architect and product owners;

Leading the team to improve in execution and technology skills;

Fostering the agile Dev / Ops mindset;

Managing the team budget (tracking, reporting, etc.) and priorities;

Business stakeholder management;

Quick resolution of service disruptions;

Operational - and HR management - ensure the team has high-quality developers that match the team culture.

Requirements & competences

Bachelor degree level (or equivalent);

Over 5 years of IT project management experience in the asset management industry;

Over 5 years of management experience;

Extensive experience in working in large projects, Agile and DevOps, and of the asset management industry in general are strong qualifications.

Good communication skills and a strong personality that can handle demanding business stakeholders;

Understanding of the idea of micro services architecture and experience in that context;

Ability to lead, motivate, and push a team of skilled software development experts to a higher level via secure based leadership;

Pragmatism and ability to adapt to different management styles when needed;

Creative and critical thinker that is able to find the right balance between technical innovation and stable/secure services;

Ability to speak and write fluently in Dutch and English.

Start per May 1st, 2024

Minimum availability 32 hours per week (full time preferred)

Willing to work on site at Robeco at least 3 days per week (under normal circumstances)
