Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to join our growing team in Gainesville, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be licensed with 10+ years' experience of field and office surveying practices and techniques along with extensive boundary and easement experience.

Job Duties

Primary responsibilities of the position will include oversight and management of boundary and easement work, plat preparation, survey projects, job coordination, marketing, developing and maintaining client relationships, proposal preparation, and project scoping and budgeting. The successful candidate will be able to perform and manage all tasks related to surveying projects including Civil 3D drafting; boundary surveys; plat recordation; legal descriptions; topographic, construction, and bathymetric surveys and associated computations; and wetland and stream surveys. Candidate must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times, be an adept problem solver and effective communicator, and be willing to learn and take on new tasks. Position will include some field work.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• VA Licensed Surveyor – in good standing

• 10+ years of progressive surveying/drafting work experience

• Strong leadership skills

• Working knowledge of modern survey methods

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Ability to prioritize and multi-task with respect to projects, CAD standards, etc. to achieve deadlines

• Strong attention to details while maintaining consistent workflow

• Ability to work under minimal supervision & resolve issues independently based on project and company standards

• Willingness/ability to expand knowledge of CAD and design abilities through training

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED

• Experience with Leica software and equipment
