Job Summary:

The Head Housekeeper is responsible for supervising Housekeepers and maintaining clean and attractive guestrooms and common areas, cleaning and folding laundry, and cleaning glassware while providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests.

Education & Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.

Minimum three years’ experience as housekeeper or lead housekeeper.

Physical Requirements:

Flexible and long hours are sometimes required.

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Ability to stand during the entire shift.

General Requirements:

Works closely with the GM to address customer concerns and meet all special requests from guests. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.

Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.

Attend all hotel required meetings and training.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag.

Comply with Meeting House standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.

Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.

Perform other duties as requested by management.

Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.

Fundamental Requirements:

Work with GM to establish a high standard of room cleanliness and readiness for guests.

Execute initial hotel setup, including all guest rooms, indoor and outdoor public spaces, and staff spaces.

Clean 16 rooms per shift, clean and fold laundry from last night’s guests, clean common areas including hotel lobby, staff bathrooms, laundry room, hallways, stairways, storage rooms and outdoor seating areas daily.

Responsible for conducting daily inventory of all cleaning and guest room supplies and ensuring maintenance issues are addressed promptly.

Works closely with maintenance staff to conduct monthly deep cleaning.

Employees must always greet hotel guests with a smile, be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.

Thoroughly clean guest rooms according to Meeting House Checklist Standards.

Complete all pre-cleaning duties, including but not limited to, cleaning and folding laundry, guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping cart set-up.

Remove all trash and dirty linen from guest rooms and hallways.

Keep all hallways, public areas and closets clean, neat and clean at all times.

Restock housekeeping cleaning cart for next shift's use.

Replenish chemical bottles.

Clean room with the door closed according to standards, unless requested to do otherwise by the guest.

Report all missing items from room to GM.

Report any maintenance repairs immediately to the GM.

Handle items for “Lost and Found” according to the standards.

Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
