Tier 2 Technician (Level 3)

Job Description

We have an opening for a Tier II Network Technician to support the Intelligence community by providing technical support for the customer’s LAN and WAN across the enterprise.

JOB DUTIES:

The Tier 2 network field technician will play a vital role in supporting the installation and maintenance of the client’s LAN/WAN devices.

Respond to and efficiently resolve incident tickets.

Implement standard network change requests.

Provide crucial support to Tier 3 network engineers for incident management and projects, including site surveys and coordinating the installation of new equipment.

Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.

Perform configuration management functions, such as updating topology drawings, ensuring accurate asset management records, and maintaining inventory.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of 16 years of related/relevant work experience, which can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years of experience, a Masters and 10 years, a Bachelor’s and 12 years, an Associates and 14 years, or a High School diploma and 16 years.

Must meet IAT Level 2 certification requirements.

Desired Qualifications: 8570 Certification.

Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI, with CI Poly.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience.

Knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI model.

Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts.

Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals.

Working knowledge of Layer 3 protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP.

Working knowledge of Service Now or similar ITSM products.
