The role

Sandvik are currently seeking an enthusiastic and strong performing Warehouse Worker to join our warehouse team based in Prominent Hill. Reporting to the Service Support Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day operations and supervise the operation of the warehouse, including processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment in compliance with Sandvik warehousing and logistics procedures and processes.

Areas of responsibility

Comply with all aspects of the Sandvik EHS policy and any reasonable instruction, procedures or systems of work which are given in the interest of providing safe workplaces and eliminating environmental harm.

Oversees receipt, storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures. Accounts for all materials and supplies in the stores facilities; audits goods received into warehouse.

Prepares and coordinates schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space.

Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment.

Develop the warehouse processes and improve team performance using Lean methodology.

Working closely with other warehouse workers, supervisors, and managers to ensure smooth operations.

Participate and Champion Site Safety, drives Hazards Hunts and Safety Presentations.

Suggesting and implementing process improvements to optimize warehouse operations and increase efficiency.

Runs daily tool boxes and sets up the daily task for start of shift.

Your profile

You will be adaptable, reliable and committed to our “Zero Harm” attitude. You will demonstrate initiative, flexibility, a high level of enthusiasm and excellent communication and leadership skills. You will have a minimum of 2 years’ warehouse/stores experience and hold a Forklift Licence. A Certificate IV in Warehousing or equivalent is also desirable but not essential.
