GENERAL SUMMARY

The Senior Commercial Loan Development Officer is charged with the overall success of the Member Business Lending Origination Program through effective relationship management.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement sales & lead generation process for the credit union

Meet loan production and quality standards as established by the credit union while producing $25MM of combined loan fundings between conventional and SBA.

Increase commercial loan production by developing business/referral contacts and attract new base of commercial loan members, within the credit union’s charter

Build referral network with NIH Partner relationships and potential member organizations utilizing NIHFCU

Generate new commercial loan applications by developing relationships with affinity groups that assist our business members.

Assist in creating/instituting special programs & strategies to increase volume and profitability

Work with the marketing team to identify areas of opportunity, create marketing materials and coordinate program roll outs between retail and the MBL teams

Create, maintain, and distribute commercial loan development reports to appropriate staff and management

Assist SVP/CLO in meeting commercial loan operational standards by contributing commercial loan information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, loan quality, and customer-service standards.

Presenting completed transactions to management and credit committee for approval.

Commitment to involvement throughout the life of the transaction through settlement as needed.Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Strong commercial/business lending sales skills with consistent track record of commercial loan production throughout the United States.

Minimum ten (10) years commercial/business loan origination experience, with a strong focus on small business lending under the Small Business Administration 7(a) program.

Must have an established network of referral sources and be able to provide a history of funded transactions by amount and type (conventional vs SBA)

Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of SBA SOPs, as well as credit union commercial lending policies, procedures, and regulations.

Must possess a thorough understanding of the requirements and features of the SBA and other Commercial loan programs offered by NIHFCU.

Knowledge of, and experience with, credit union/bank regulatory requirements.

Strong math skills including the use of automated spreadsheet development and basic commercial loan analytics required

Bachelor’s degree required.

REQUIRED COMPLIANCE COURSES

Ensure that work results and processes comply with relevant laws and with established NIHFCU policies, procedures, and practices, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).Attend all required training or complete and pass all online required training courses as applicable.
