Forsee Power is expanding in North America. We seek a Technical Sales / Application Engineer - Electric Vehicle Powertrain Battery Systems in our inaugural North America manufacturing facility in Hilliard, Ohio. Join our team and help lead the region’s electromobility transformation!

Job Summary

The Technical Sales / Application Engineer is the authority regarding customer technical requirements for the business. This position is responsible for providing technical support to the sales team during the inquiry and bid preparation phases by gathering customer requirements and matching them to Forsee’s product line or custom capability. Once the order is received, this position supports the execution team by ensuring that customer requirements are properly supported in the delivered product. Finally, the Technical Sales / Application Engineer travels to customer sites to assist with installation and address service concerns.

This position will be based in the North America facility in Hilliard, OH and reports to the Director of Sales North America. The Technical Sales / Application Engineer shall perform all duties in a manner consistent with Forsee Power’s Values and Code of Conduct.

Scope of responsibility includes duties customary to the role, such as:

Establish and convey expertise in application of battery systems to customer products

Interact with customers in a fluent, convincing manner to gather requirements and understand key technical conditions and decision factors

Document and communicate in a clear and prompt fashion customer requirements to relevant team members

Lead the timely creation of technical aspects of proposals to customers in response to formal and informal requests

Following the order, provide the technical voice of the customer to project management through the realization of the product and delivery to the customer

Subsequent to delivery, support the customer remotely and on site in the integration of the product with the customer’s vehicle

After integration, provide a liaison to the aftermarket department for service and warranty requests

Provide the voice of the customer in post-execution ‘lessons learned’ reviews which improve efficiency and customer satisfaction

Provide the technical and practical aspects of the voice of the customer/market to new product development teams

Skills and Knowledge:

Working knowledge of basic principles from mechanical, electronic, thermal, propulsion, and embedded software engineering

Demonstrated capability to rapidly learn technical concepts and techniques

Knowledge of electrochemical principles

Continuous improvement techniques (Kaizen, etc.)

Technical knowledge and experience with battery systems for electric mobility (a plus)

Target market (electric vehicle) knowledge and experience (a plus)

Familiarity with stress reduction, conflict resolution, and crisis management techniques

English fluency, with ability in French a plus

Strong candidate likely has:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferred

Minimum 4-5 years of experience in industrial, automotive, or railway industries preferred

Battery systems experience is highly desirable

Resides in or willing to relocate to the greater Columbus, Ohio area

Ability to travel up to 30% domestically for up to 7 continuous days; ability to travel internationally up to twice annually for up to 7 continuous days; must possess a valid passport or be able to obtain a valid passport

Physical Requirements

Regularly moves equipment/product weighing up to 50 pounds.
