Graduate Assistant - Athletic Communications

POSITION TITLE: Graduate Assistant --- Athletic Communications DEPARTMENT: --- Athletics REPORTS TO: --- Donnie Smith POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications, this position will assist in the creation and distribution of social media content, statistics, photos, game day broadcasts, and other materials used to promote athletes and their teams.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of college athletics and technical skills in some combination of graphic design, publication layout and design, statistics, and or broadcasting.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Education - An earned bachelor's degree, and acceptance into a Southeastern University Graduate Program Collaboration - Ability to work with staff members, coaches and athletes with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Communication - Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Experience - Intercollegiate athletics/event experience in the following responsibilities: Game Management, Marketing & Promotions and Facility Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in preparing all printed material for all SEU sports; including, but not limited to game programs, media guides, and schedule cards.

Assist in maintaining an accurate athletic website for SEU; timely game updates, human interest features, accurate bios, etc.

Assist in maintaining current, accurate and organized files for assigned sports.

Files should include rosters, schedules, game results, statistical information, and newspaper releases.

Works directly with the Director of Athletic Communications and the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.

As a graduate assistant you must exemplify Southeastern's standards for student culture and conduct.

Work a minimum of 20 hours per week and a maximum of 29 hours per week.

Summer work is not available.
