Job Description –
HW&Co. is currently PROSPECTING for a Senior Accountant for our Audit and Advisory department in our Columbus, OH office, with a start date at the beginning of 2024 fall or later. Senior Accountants are highly experienced within their area of specialization, and report to Managers and Senior Managers. They ensure financial compliance through the preparation and review of client reports and statements within the A&A department.

Understand accounting and auditing standards and keep current with new standards
Understand and abide by the rules, regulations, and code of conduct of the AICPA
Perform the following audit procedures:
Review less experienced staff’s work for accuracy and compliance
Present audit solutions and find ways to increase their efficiency
Perform effective control and risk assessments
Establish more direct and personal working relationships with clients
Draft financial statements and management letters
Complete and submit reports to more experienced staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications –
3-5 years of public accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
CPA eligible or CPA license
Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
Experience with healthcare, HUD, and/or nonprofit audits (preferred)
Expert in accounting software (CaseWare, FAS, and/or IDEA is preferred) and Microsoft Office
Great verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and time management
The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
The ability to interact with clients and employees of all levels of the Firm
