Overview:

The Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the management of the IS project portfolio from concept & approval through project closure. They will assist with the management of the IS demand management and intake processes. The Portfolio Analyst will assist with project scoping, prioritization, and resource allocation to ensure successful execution of portfolio plans with clear communication of projects’ value.

Responsibilities:

Works with IS and other stakeholders to develop, prioritize and maintain the intake and project portfolio, guaranteeing that a common process is established, optimized, and followed. Ensures that portfolio data stays up to date by working with resources to validate that the portfolio has the latest and most accurate information. Analyzes new projects by helping to identify scope, resource requirements, portfolio impact, and priority.

Leverages existing tools and recommends new tools, documents, and recommends techniques to streamline intake, project priority, overall portfolio, and resource capacity management. - Provides consistent and effective portfolio dashboards, meeting facilitation, documentation, scorecards, and reports that reflect the performance of the IS project and presents information to senior leadership for effective decision making.

Develops and applies best practices, tools for project portfolio execution, and management reporting. Creates and leverages Portfolio reporting tools to monitor portfolio activities, evaluates and assesses risk, and regularly communicates portfolio concerns, issues, and status updates to IS and business leaders.

Develops reporting dashboards to provide project, resource capacity, program, and portfolio updates for all levels in the organization.

Leads the management processes for demand, capacity, and portfolio to facilitate business case development, level of effort definition, portfolio analysis and prioritization, project selection, and approval. Manages capacity planning models to show planned resource allocation against resource actual time and facilitates resolution of resource capacity conflicts.

Qualifications:

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in computer information science, management, healthcare administration, or a healthcare related field.

Certifications: Completion of a Structured Project Management Training program, required. Project Management Certification, preferred.

Skills:

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient with industry standard project management tools and methodologies.

Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficient in Power BI.

Successfully managed a large portfolio (100+ active projects) with multiple business stakeholders with competing priorities.

At least 3+ years’ experience working with Microsoft Project Online or a similar tool.

At least 3+ years’ experience working with Microsoft products (Project, SharePoint, Visio, Excel, etc.…)

Experience with traditional SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Experience with ITIL preferred.

Expereince: 3 years as a project manager or equivalent expereince in a similar role, required.
