Supervisor: Senior Grants and Funded Contracts Manager

Location: Washington, DC- Primarily on-site position with an option of working remotely one-day a week

Synopsis: The Grants & Funded Contracts (GFC) Specialist at La Clínica del Pueblo is a crucial figure in managing, sustaining, and expanding a portfolio of approximately $3 million, encompassing a range of grants and contracts aimed at advancing the health and welfare of the Latine immigrant community in the DC Metropolitan Area. This position requires strong capabilities in overseeing the entire lifecycle of grants management, from identification and acquisition of new funding opportunities to the meticulous execution of existing agreements. The role demands excellent organizational and writing skills to produce compelling grant proposals, as well as fluency in both English and Spanish.

The GFC Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with grant conditions, maintaining budget fidelity, and meeting project deliverables. Regularly engaging with funders, the specialist must adeptly handle renewals and identify prospects to expand the funding base in alignment with La Clínica's strategic goals and mission of serving as a leading health provider for immigrants. This position involves a high degree of collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders, requiring strong analytical and project management skills to support La Clínica’s financial sustainability and capacity building.

Key responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing the current funding portfolio, securing renewal funding, and prospecting new funding opportunities. The specialist will also engage in professional development activities and collaborate closely with La Clínica's fundraising and communications teams to foster unified efforts and enhance stakeholder engagement. This role, fundamental to La Clínica's operations and growth, supports not just fiscal management but also contributes to the broader mission of health equity and social justice in the DC Metropolitan Area.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience: The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in the non-profit sector, including a minimum of 1 year focused on project design/development and grant writing/management, supported by a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.

Preferred Education and Experience: Preferred candidates will possess extensive knowledge of the grant-making ecosystem across various domains, especially within the health sector, and demonstrate a proven passion for serving the Latine community with a focus on social justice and health equity.

Required Skills/Abilities/Certifications/Licenses: Required skills include exceptional writing proficiency, fluency in both English and Spanish, technical fluency with Adobe Pro and Microsoft Suite, strong analytical skills for data interpretation, and the ability to manage multiple projects with strict adherence to deadlines.

Preferred Skills/Abilities/Certifications/Licenses: Preferred skills include adaptability with new technologies and tools for improving grant management workflows and a commitment to ongoing professional development that aligns with La Clínica's organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Revenue & Sustainability

Portfolio Maintenance:

Ensure diligent oversight and strategic administrative management of grants and funded contracts totaling approx. $3,000,000.

Schedule and conduct regular reviews to monitor the health of each grant, engaging in ongoing dialogue with funders to align with their shifting interests.

Collaborate with internal teams to meet project deliverables, maintain budget fidelity, and adhere to compliance standards to safeguard the integrity and complete execution of the current funding portfolio.

Renewal Funding Acquisition:

Ensure the meticulous execution of portfolio maintenance strategies to uphold strong funder relationships and secure the projected renewal funding by the end of FY2024.

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to prepare and submit high-quality renewal proposals that align with funding requirements and La Clínica’s strategic objectives.

Prospecting & Securing New Funding:

Collaborate closely with organizational leadership to identify and pursue new funding opportunities that resonate with La Clínica’s mission and strategic vision.

Utilize advanced research tools and foster partnerships to pinpoint potential funding sources.

Craft compelling narratives for support that showcase alignment with funders’ priorities and the impactful work of La Clínica.

Capacity-Building and Professional Growth

Incorporation of Advanced Technologies:

Use cutting-edge technologies, such as ChatGPT and Fireflies, to enhance our GFC unit’s operational efficiency.

Active Participation in Training & Team Building:

Participate in training tailored to crucial operational areas such as grant management, compliance, and financial reporting.

Professional Development Engagement:

Collaborate with the GFC Senior Manager to create and execute personalized development plans that align with your individual career aspirations and La Clínica’s organizational goals.

Collaboration

Engagement with Fundraising and Communications Teams:

Work closely with the Fundraising and Communication Teams to improve La Clínica’s fundraising success and stakeholder engagement through unified efforts and consistent messaging.

Executive Team Alignment:

Support the GFC Senior Manager collaboration with the Executive team by aiding in the preparation of clear GFC communication, monthly executive meetings, and ensuring quick implementation of key projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None specified.
