Linux and Windows System Administrator

PTFS is a leader in enterprise content management solutions, content digitization, and library services/solutions, serving more than 500 organizations around the world.

PTFS is looking for a talented Linux and Windows System Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and overall system reliability and performance in our AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments. PTFS offers annually escalating PTO and employee events.

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and manage infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and on-premises, including networks, Virtual Machines, databases, etc.

Advanced Linux and Windows system administration and troubleshooting tasks.

Monitor system health, performance metrics, and logs to ensure optimal functioning.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the infrastructure and deployment pipelines.

Collaborate with software engineers to ensure infrastructure meets application requirements.

Continuously improve infrastructure reliability, efficiency, monitoring, and deployments.

Keep up to date with latest technologies and best practices.

Position is on-site 3 days per week. Support on call, weekend and off hours work as needed.

Mandatory Requirements:

5+ years’ experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.

Deep knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS with working experience using EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, S3 and other services.

Understanding of monitoring and log analysis tools.

Strong Linux administration and scripting skills.

Experience managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting MySQL databases.

Ability to collaborate with development teams and align technology with business goals.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.

Preferred Requirements:

Develop CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of applications.

Experience with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, CircleCI, TravisCI, etc.

Experience administering Oracle DB systems.

Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.

Experience administering on-premises virtualization technologies.

Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible.

Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
