Staff Geologist

Triad Engineering, Inc. has an immediate need for a full-time Staff Geologist in our Winchester, Virginia office.

The successful candidate is an entry-level professional who will successfully support senior staff in the planning, designing and implementation of multiple routine projects.

Duties assigned may take place in the office, laboratory and/or field.

DUTIES

Perform assignments requiring the application of standard criteria, procedures and techniques

Conduct surveys and field studies to gather geological data

Analyze material samples from the project field using a variety of collection techniques

Prepare field and final soil boring logs

Gather soil samples and subject to geotechnical and/or chemical analysis

Utilize maps, aerial photos, satellite imagery, geochemical surveys, GIS data and other sources to perform site analysis

Compile survey information and data

Assist in analyzing field data, aerial photographs, and satellite images

Communicate with senior geologists through formal and informal reports

Assist in preparing reports and correspondence related to assigned projects

May perform asbestos inspections and collecting of asbestos samples

May perform air monitoring

May perform lab testing on soil, rock or concrete samples

Strive to make each project profitable

Participate in business development and customer service whenever possible

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Geology or other appropriate discipline

Experience

0-2 years applicable professional experience

Additional Requirements

Must possess a valid driver's license

Must possess advanced reading, writing and math skills

Must be comfortable communicating with the public

Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments
