Role Overview:

Working under the direction of Marketing Department leadership (Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing & Communications Manager), the Marketing & Business Development Coordinator supports the marketing, communications, and business development activities for the Firm. The role will encompass the full range of marketing, communications, and business development activities, including website, social media, CRM, research and analysis, data entry, events, strategic project support, pitches and presentations, and other related activities. Candidates must be located in the Washington, DC Metro area. This position is remote but requires availability to work in the Northern Virginia office 1-day per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the overall implementation of marketing and business development plans and initiatives, including maintaining systems to track initiatives.

Support the Marketing team with organizing and executing in-person and virtual events, seminars, webinars, receptions, sponsorships, and attorney speaking engagements (includes invites, agenda preparation, materials management, RSVPs, website presence, external sponsors, etc.

Maintain data in the Firm’s contact relationship management (CRM) system by reviewing and curating targeted mailing lists for various marketing campaigns and client programming, recording activities such as client meetings, updating current contact information, conducting regular database audits, and executing other meaningful back-end data entry projects

Maintain various business development lists and reports in the Firm’s CRM that are critical for demonstrating the business development pipeline, plan results, and tracking

Perform business development and competitive research and analysis, including issuing comprehensive and high-quality summaries of findings

Track incoming work and referrals, business development successes, opportunity outcomes, and targeting efforts

Assist with the drafting and project management of directory submissions (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500) and other practice or industry-specific rankings

Maintain publication editorial calendars and submission tracking

Help maintain and update Firm experience content

Assist with maintaining and updating marketing collateral, representative work, and website content

Support proofreading efforts for all Marketing Department efforts to ensure error-free deliverables.

Assist with developing pitches and proposals, including drafting marketing-related content, accurately managing the editing process, and supporting the formatting of deliverables

Assist with budget management.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.

2+ years of experience in marketing, business development, or a related field; exposure to a professional services environment, preferably a law firm, required.

Excellent time management and job management skills.

Excellent communication skills – written and oral – and ability to work at all levels.

Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize short and long-term project deadlines.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Attention to detail, ensuring a high quality product.

Good systems and database skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM applications.

Attention to detail and an eye for design and presentation.
