Position Summary:

MAG Aerospace is seeking a Senior Director of Technical Solutions reporting to the SVP C5ISR Solutions Business Unit General Manager. The Director will be responsible for leadership in the development of technical solutions for current programs and major opportunity pursuits. Also, leadership is development of “technical roadmap” for organization and then execution of the tasks to implement the roadmap, including working the tasks to get customer and internal funding as required.

The Director will collaborate with the SVP C5ISR Solutions to ensure effective use of technical resources across the organization as well as identifying and responding to key customer relationship needs. The Director will be expected to identify gaps and emerging requirements, perform market and economic analysis, design, and execute technology and systems development plans, monitor emerging technology, and support the program capture process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but not limited to:

Develop and manage a business unit-wide technology roadmap that is in sync with the opportunity pipeline and supports growth of the business unit and company.

Present long-term plan(s), resource requirements and technical solution strategies to achieve BU goals for program capture, bookings, and pipeline strength.

Effectively engage government officials and staff and build solid relationships with key individuals to identify and mature technical solutions.

Develop long-term investment and business strategies to identify and defeat principal competitors in current and projected markets.

Recommend areas for new technology development that will permit the capture of new markets and solutions.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of technology-based solutions to include digital transformation initiatives.

Support the development and implementation of the business unit BD strategy based on market research and leadership direction for on contract growth and natural adjacencies.

Support the identification, development, and implementation of near-term and long-term business strategies that position the company and business unit for growth.

Monitor status of ongoing efforts and review all capture status and Gate Reviews with leadership for resource allocation.

Continuously monitor the market to keep track of competitor developments and their impact on market share.

Support BD planning activities, to include pipeline reviews, operating plan development, Capture Status and Gate reviews, black hat sessions, win theme and discriminator sessions and proposal writing and reviews.

Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, technology, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

15 years of successful BD, capture, solution development and operations management experience in the DOD/IC C5ISR technology centric market

Excellent communication skills and highly effective interpersonal skills are required as well as an ability to inspire confidence and provide business development leadership throughout the group and the company

The ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally

Excellent customer focus and negotiation skills

Must be a hands-on collaborative leader with a track record of successfully leading strategic solution development efforts and leading the development of winning strategies and solutions.

In-depth understanding of the Federal Government procurement life-cycle, processes, and tools.

Education / Certifications

Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of C5ISR systems and solutions development experience.

Clearance

DOD Top Secret Clearance/SCI eligible

Desired Requirements

5 or more years’ experience in Operations Management of DOD C5ISR programs

5 or more year’ experience and success in building and managing business in the Army C5ISR market
