Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Senior Director of Growth, National Security (NATSEC) to join their team in Herndon, VA. This individual will interface with the key members of the leadership team to develop actionable market assessments, identify credible market opportunities, investigate and develop strategic teaming partners, and deliver winning proposals focused on the National Security Market Sector. This position plans and implements a sales pipeline with specific milestone-based targets on key Business Development metrics, including but not limited to bids, booking, and billing-related performance. The Senior Director must be externally facing and a brand ambassador to Federal and Industry partners. He or She must be skilled in building and maintaining productive relationships and continue to develop our client's positive visibility in the Federal Marketplace. In this capacity, the role requires the involvement of the Senior Director in new business, supporting re-competes, and market analysis. As a key management staff, this position will work as an integral team member aligned with others leading our Growth Strategy, Customer Experience Strategy, Business Infrastructure, Operations & Delivery. This position leads, develops, and grows market share for our client's service offerings and provides input and support for executing corporate growth, business development, and a capture plan. This position will report directly to the President of our client.
Growth/Capture & Business Development:
Responsible for development, management, and achievement of the growth strategies and objectives of the company's strategic business plan to include new business, organic as well as subcontract growth, follow on / re-compete of existing business, operational excellence, and input to strategic investments that support the growth market perception and market value of our client
Develop, review, manage and ultimately be responsible for a high-quality pipeline of current/new opportunities in the National Security sector that support the Company's near-term and long-term profitable revenue goals and future strategic growth
Build a network of key contacts and relationships within DHS (USCIS, CBP, ICE, FEMA, HQ and TSA) and adjacent agencies such as DOJ, State, and Federal Law Enforcement, to secure customer loyalty and gain early insights into potential business opportunities
Capture responsibilities include developing and executing strategic campaigns; to include developing customer insight
Lead and be responsible for all gate reviews for his/her pipeline through the development/execution stages
Participate in Company Growth related activities: Including Go-To Market growth strategy and Business Development
Direct key Account Management functions to enable Market Penetration, New Market Development, New Product introduction in Current Markets and Market/Product/Solution Diversification
Work cooperatively across departments with Contracts, Finance, Operations and Marketing
Provide guidance for technical responses to RFI/RFP/RFQ's
Must be familiar with and support corporate values, goals and objectives
Participate in meetings, as required, with the Corporate Leadership Team to present business development plans, performance updates, and lessons learned
Marketing & Communications:
Represent the company in speaking opportunities, conferences, media activities and utilizing social media and online marketing strategies to build a strong online presence
Work with the marketing team to develop strategies and plan industry/community-related efforts to establish our client as a thought leader in emerging technologies
Corporate Stewardship:
Work cooperatively across departments with Operations, Contracts, Growth, Finance and Marketing as needed
Participate in meetings, as required, with the Corporate Leadership Team to present customer experience strategy ideas and customer engagement
Participate in companies Quality efforts including CMMI and ISO processes
Supervise and Manage employee relations and appraisals of all direct reports (if any)
Requirements
At least 5 years of relevant business development, proposal management and capture management experience
A Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years of growth-oriented and sales work experience is required in a related field or role
Proven and strong experience in federal business development, capture, operations management, pipeline development/management, market development, capture management, and/or proposal development for public and private/nonprofit sector clients
Proven experience in comprehensive, advanced negotiation and closing skills
Enthusiastic, proactive, positive attitude with great listening skills and high integrity
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage programs supporting multiple businesses
Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
Strong writing and presentation skills
Strong desire to mentor, coach team members while being the company's central face in the market for all aspects of technology brand equity development and growth
Able to work under pressure (at times) and to be extremely flexible under changing priorities
Excellent verbal and written skills, including strong presentation skills
Solid ability to interface, inspire and motivate at all levels of organization
Ability to write clear and concise creative content in a highly professional manner
Ability to collaborate effectively across all divisions within the company, focusing on driving a positive corporate culture
Willing to travel occasionally as needed (up to 25%)
Education/Certification Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years of growth-oriented and sales work experience is required in a related field or role.
Clearance Requirements
