Summary
Our client is is a leading application Engineering Consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. metro region specializing in Management Services, Technology Solutions and Facilities Services. They partner with and assist Federal, State and local government agencies; private sector Energy Services Companies (ESCOs); and Commercial entities in the design and implementation of their various Engineering and Technology related projects. Additionally, they are able to leverage an engineering team with proven technology industry experience that resulted in multi-million-dollar contracts within federal government, state & local government clients!
Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a mid-level Infrastructure Architect responsible for researching, planning, and installing Enterprise Solutions, including networking and software technologies and supporting life safety systems that directly impact the public. The ideal candidate will bring 6-10 years of hands-on networking experience, possess a four-year degree in computer science or a related technology discipline, and/or hold relevant industry certifications. This role requires a blend of experience, creativity, and multitasking abilities to independently and collaboratively achieve department service and support objectives.
Research, plan, and install Enterprise Solutions that may include networking or software technologies
Assess existing networks, software, and solutions to make recommendations based on product specifications and best cybersecurity practices
Configure equipment and software to meet business needs, train others on the solution, and document the solution for ongoing support
Function as part of a team on larger projects or individually provide services on support visits or smaller projects
Provide technical support and assist with the design of Infrastructure solutions
Respond to Tier 1 and 2 network and software support requests
Communicate effectively with teammates and customers of varying levels of technical expertise
Design extensions of and connections to the campus network
Assist with configuration and deployment of new/replacement network hardware and communications infrastructure
Maintain up-to-date project and architecture documentation
Maintain an up-to-date inventory and maintenance records
Monitor network resources for faults and traffic anomalies
Resolve connection issues between users and resources
Maintain detailed change history of network changes
Support ITS Field Maintenance with communications' implementation and troubleshooting
Contribute to team efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses
Manage time and resource constraints
Requirements
6-10 years of hands-on networking experience
Experience in technical services and support field
Experience in systems and network administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.)
