Job Description

The Montgomery College Workforce Development and Continuing Education Department (WDCE) is currently accepting applications to teach Biotechnology classes. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.

Duties include but are not limited to

Teach and Train students based on areas of expertise in the fields of Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, and Cell Biology with various basic laboratory techniques as per industry standards including, but not limited to Aseptic Techniques, Cell Culture, Pipetting, Biomanufacturing, Drug Development, Supply Chain Dynamics, NGS, Biomanufacturing, Raw Material Testing, Quality Control, Operating in Regulated Environment, Bioprocessing Monitoring & Impurities Testing, and CMC Regulatory Affairs.

Create curriculum, PowerPoint Presentation, SOPs, Technical specifications, presentation, and handouts for various classes and Training

Participate in meetings with team members and partners, as needed.

Apply culturally relevant and empathetic strategies to the teaching and learning process

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field, and/or any combination of education, training and experience providing understanding of the field and the ability to perform the duties of the job.

Supervisor/Leadership experience.

Teaching experience.

Mentoring experience.

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to the Colleges strategic plan of inclusion.

Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus)*. Montgomery College (MC) provides an MC e-mail account and access to the learning platform, password-protected faculty sections of the website, college listservs, and other faculty communications tools. *If you do not have access to a personal computer, please notify the department chair at the time of interview. Subject to available funds, the college may be able to provide temporary access to resources.
