ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

We are accepting applications for Natural Resources Technician 1 – Seasonal Central Office and State Fairgrounds (2 positions available) within the Division of Wildlife, within the state of Ohio. What you will do…

Most days will be spent landscaping, maintaining state fairgrounds and facilities and developing displays.

Some days will be spent in the Central Office networking with and assisting staff. Opportunities will be available to network with staff working in one's desired field.

During the state fair, duties will include caring for and feeding animals in the wildlife exhibit daily and interacting with visitors to the ODNR park on the fairgrounds.

Work Hours/Work Conditions…

Hours can be flexible, and we can offer up to 40 hours per week but fewer hours are acceptable with supervisor's approval. We can also offer 4 day work weeks at 10 hours per day.

This is a maximum duration, 1000 hour intermittent (unclassified) position for the Division of Wildlife. The location for this position includes:

Division of Wildlife Franklin County

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary; valid driver’s license; valid Commercial Driver’s License required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Section 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
