JOB DESCRIPTION
CMS is hiring an experienced Field Service HVAC Technician/Site Manager who will be responsible for Start Up, Commissioning and some scheduled service of cooling equipment within a data center environment. Someone who can promote and maintain excellent customer relations. A person who likes working with team members, as well as independently. The Field Service Technician would maintain daily communication with management. Must be willing to travel to site locations.
SUMMARY
Ability to work unsupervised and capable of making informed decisions to complete tasks as instructed.
Will complete reports on daily/weekly progress
Has the ability to identify and report the difference between a manufacturing and a construction deficiency
Military background valued but not required.
Some travel required.
Any travel expenses reimbursed.
ESSENTIAL TECHINICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Fully understands electrical, mechanical and control systems
Comfortable rendering on site and phone assistance as needed.
Must be able to read and understand the mechanical and electrical drawings.
Able to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and equipment, apparatuses and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Fully understands and mastered the fundamentals of temperature and humidity measurement and control in air conditioning units. *Preferred but not required.
Can identify the components and understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems associated with the equipment, use meters and other handheld tools to perform maintenance and to troubleshoot.
Basic knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Electric Motors
Electric motor controls (disconnects, transformers, etc.)
Various types of water pumps
Intake and exhaust fans
Economizers
Humidifiers
Variable Frequency Drives
Electrical component troubleshooting
Understands VFDs
The technician must be able to proficiently demonstrate tasks: prime pumps, change out motors, complete wiring using a diagram.
Ability to make in depth site evaluations including environmental temperature and general operating conditions.
Capable to rendering service and/or repair and return unit to full operating conditions.
Mechanical aptitude necessary.
Soldering (Not Necessary, but Appreciated)
Brazing (Not Necessary, but Appreciated)
ESSENTIAL DAILY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Check in with Manager at the end of each day.
During and/or end of each job complete all company provided forms
Hand in paperwork and expenses at the end of each trip for processing in sequential order
Team with other Custom Mechanical Systems Team Members on jobs as needed.
Secure parts and tools during and at the end of each day as required.
Report all warranty repairs to Manager and provide documentation/pictures.
Participate in construction, commissioning and team meetings as needed.
ESSENTIAL OVERALL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be a team player while maintaining independent work initiative
Must be a positive representative of CMS
Must submit expense reports in a timely manner.
Must adhere to any non-disclosure policies of customers and work place.
Must communicate any need for additional training or skill practice.
Must keep customer work area, as well as own work area clean and neat at the end of the day
Must maintain all safety equipment and adhere to safety rules at all times.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, climb ladders, use scissor lift, etc.
Some travel required. Some travel out of town required.
Construction site experience
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Must have a high school diploma
Must have a valid driver’s license
Overtime hours maybe required
Must follow all company policies
Must present good leadership skills
Must adhere to customer site safety requirements
Must have minimum 7 years of HVAC/mechanical experience
Must be able to pass a DOD background check
Must present proof of US citizenship
Military experience not necessary but appreciated
