Responsibilities:

Primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries and issues, providing timely and accurate information to employees and managers.

Assisting with employee relations matters by collecting relevant information and passing it on to the corporate HR office for further action.

Supporting recruiting efforts by scheduling interviews, coordinating with hiring managers, and assisting with onboarding processes for new hires.

Collaborating with the plant manager, Jim, to address HR-related challenges and ensure a fair and supportive work environment.

Maintaining HR systems, particularly UKG, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

Providing general administrative support to the HR function, including record-keeping, reporting, and other tasks as needed.

Ensure legal compliance with federal and state regulations, including ADA, FLSA, HIPAA, and OSHA.

Complete and maintain the location’s Affirmative Action Plan, provide training, and oversee outreach efforts.

Coordinate recruitment efforts, including identifying recruitment sources, evaluating candidates, conducting interviews, and referring qualified candidates for further evaluation.

Extend offers of employment, arrange background checks, drug screens, and physicals, and conduct new hire orientation.

Assist with the onboarding process for new hires.

Assist with workers’ compensation programs, including monitoring employee claims and collaborating with the workers’ compensation carrier.

Assist with OSHA compliance, including maintaining OSHA Logs, electronic submission, and preparing annual OSHA summary postings.

Maintain all HR-related records, including personnel records, employment selection process records, I-9 forms, affirmative action/equal employment records, OSHA/workers compensation records, and complaint investigation records.

Assist with routine HR functions such as benefit enrollment, processing new hires, changes, and terminations, conducting performance reviews, and updating policies.

Supervise and train direct reports, serving as their backup support.

Communicate effectively with the union, manage and respond to union grievances, and participate in Collective Bargaining contract negotiations.

Key Requirements:

Strong understanding of HR compliance, recruitment, onboarding, workers’ compensation, and safety regulations.

Experience in union communication, collective bargaining, and grievance management.

Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Flexibility to work flexible hours as needed.
