Aerovel is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our team on-site in Bingen, WA developing and manufacturing the next generation of long-range robotic aircraft. Aerovel is led by the aeronautical veterans who invented and developed the Group 2 small tactical unmanned aerial system (STUAS), a backbone of US military and allied intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) missions worldwide. The Group 2 UAS systems have contributed significantly to the effectiveness of US and allied troops as well as their safety and security. Aerovel Flexrotor is the most advanced STUAS with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It is designed for the demanding reliability and specifications required by the US Department of Defense (DOD) while being affordable for commercial applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform quality control (QC) inspections of aerospace components and systems

Document QC inspection results, non-conformances, and other quality-related issues and communicate these findings and recommendations for corrective and preventative actions

Engage in seamless collaboration with the manufacturing team to swiftly identify and effectively resolve issues associated with incoming materials, ensuring production processes run smoothly.

Assist with and/or review investigations into quality-related issues

Develop and implement quality related policies, procedures, and programs

Develop necessary inspection requirements from supplier, incoming, in-process, and final inspection points as required.

Work with engineers to improve component specifications and recommend actions to prevent occurrence of non-conformances.

Promote ongoing improvements that lead to greater customer satisfaction, cost efficiency of operations, and procedural and regulatory compliance.

Conduct internal audits on manufacturing lines to assess adherence to established quality standards, contributing to the enhancement of overall quality control.

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment in a QA/QC role; preferably under an approved quality management system such as AS9100 or ISO9001

High school diploma; Associates degree in a technical field is preferred.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and bill of materials (BOMs)

Ability to use hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and testing fixtures.

Exceptional attention to detail to conduct thorough inspections and maintain accurate records.

Knowledge of unmanned aircraft or aerospace systems preferred.

Experience and working knowledge of production techniques and quality systems in aerospace manufacturing environment.

Ability to work on-site at the engineering and manufacturing facilities.
