Main Purpose:

Responsible for providing comprehensive HSE and compliance support, complying with the Company policies and procedures including legislative, regulatory and best industry practice requirements. Ensure that all emergency response systems of the company are readily available and safe to operate. Ensures compliance with the relevant policies, regulations and HSEC Management Systems.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct HSEC inspection/audits, analyze accident/incident reports, identify issues/challenges, establish goals and action plans

Establish action plans for each identified risk. Liaise with line managers/ supervisors including contractors to ensure plans are actioned

Effective implementation, monitoring and reporting on the company’s HSEC Policies and Procedures including applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.

Provide current up-to-date HSEC Advise and support to line Managers and Supervisors including Contractors

Monitor Contractor HSEC System to ensure conformity with company’s HSEC Policies.

Liaise with the company for information and assistance in developing and implementing relevant HSEC programs.

Develop pre-incident plans and ensure timeliness and effectiveness of these plans through drills and exercises.

Act as Field Commander of the Emergency Response Team.

Comply with company requirements and systems relating to SAPS, HSEC & Quality and other company policies.

Requirements:

Experience:

• Engineering Graduate/OH&S Graduate/Diploma or equivalent degree.

• Minimum 7 years experience in an oil and gas or petrochemical industry setting preferably in Technical/Operations or Fire & Safety

• Experience in Emergency response

• Strong analytical skills

Competencies:

• Knowledge in the application of relevant statutory standards and HSE procedures

• Demonstrated strong communication skills and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access & Power point

• Experienced in safety training development and competency based assessment.
