What You Will Do The Nutrition Lab Technician will be responsible for learning and performing nutritional analysis testing and further supporting the R&D department with the creation of new products and processes under the supervision of the Nutrition Lab Manager.

How You Will Make an Impact * Ensure the nutritional compliance of pet diets including vitamins, minerals amino acids, fatty acids, and dietary fibers.

* Complete Nutrition Lab specific training.

* Perform ongoing training including meetings, seminars, courses, conferences, on and off-site, some travel as needed.

* Become familiar with nutritional analysis test methods and the necessary lab equipment needed to make the analysis.

* Comfortable working with chemicals and performing wet bench chemistry techniques.

* Comfortable with dilutions, dilution factors, and conversions.

* Become familiar with the operation and maintenance of analytical equipment including the TDF analyzer, ICP-MS and LCMS, and others as needed.

* Notices and alerts management when equipment parts are in bad condition or need maintenance.

* Removes waste and debris and maintains the Nutrition Lab in good order.

* Preparing and disposing of solvents, reagents, and solutions.

* Follows all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory guidelines.

* Assures food safety standards with regards to GMPs and HACCP plan are being followed by self and fellow employees.

* Will be at times subjected to cold environment w/temperatures of (approximately 40 F) and follow safety procedures with lock out tag out and exposure to hot equipment and cleaning chemicals.

* Ability to lift 50lbs or more, in addition to standing, walking, bending, and stooping throughout an 8-hr shift schedule.

* Follows established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook.

* Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring * 3 Years laboratory experience in Nutrition Analysis preferred but not required.

* 3 Years experience handling, calibrating, and maintaining analytical equipment.

* 3 Years experience with S.O.P technical instructions * Familiar with GMP's of raw and finished goods, preferably food based but not required.

* Teamwork attitude to form part of an innovative and creative groups.
