This Opportunity:

The Licensed Veterinary Technician will coordinate with our DVMs to ensure world class animal care during appointments, surgeries, and all aspects of treatment procedures. They will collaborate with support staff to ensure patient and client needs and expectations are met. The LVT should enjoy working with a diverse group of people and animals while maintaining professionalism and flexibility in the face of varying expectations from clients and co-workers. Technicians must share a firm belief in the quality of care we provide and communicate this sense of assurance to clients. Reporting and Supervision:

This position reports to Practice Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Surgery preparation, with pre- and post- operative care

Administering anesthesia and patient monitoring

Dental cleanings and dental procedures

Hospitalized & triage emergency patient nursing, and laboratory testing.

Assisting veterinarians with animal care during appointments, surgeries, and all aspects of Treatment procedures

Communicating clearly with the doctors, support staff, and clients

Supporting the team with maintaining inventory and medical records

Other Key Job Aspects

Flexible to work weekdays and some weekends to support hospital operations.

Reliable transportation to and from work

Availability to work weekends and days leading up to and after all major holidays.

Ability to lift a minimum of 20lbs; physical demands include walking, bending/kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repeated hand and arms movements.

Must be at least 18 years or older.

Must be licensed in the state of Virginia as a Veterinary Technician (LVT)- or with license pending!

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Full-time, Part-Time, Seasonal

Schedule/Availability:

Full time employees are scheduled to work 12 hours shifts: averaging 36 to 48 hours per week.

Part time employees are scheduled 4-to-8-hour shifts, averaging less than 30 hours per week.

Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Columbia Pike Animal Hospital:

Full Time Availability between 6:00am to 10:00pm* Monday through Sunday

Overnight Full Time Availability between 8:00pm to 8:00am

Town and Country Animal Hospital:

Full Time Availability between 6:00am to 9:00pm Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 5:00pm Saturdays
