General Summary

At Ascend Automation and Controls, the I&E Field Services and Commissioning Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and performance of instrumentation, electrical systems, and automation controls within the Oil and Gas Industry. This role encompasses overseeing field service activities, managing a team of technicians, and leading commissioning efforts for new installations and upgrades. The Manager collaborates closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and project management skills are essential for success in this dynamic and critical role. The Manager contributes to Ascend Automation and Controls' mission of delivering innovative automation and controls solutions to optimize efficiency, safety, and reliability in oil and gas facilities worldwide.

Education, Experience & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Oil and Gas Industry, with a proven track record of successfully managing field services and commissioning projects.

Strong technical expertise in instrumentation, electrical systems, PLC/SCADA systems, DCS, and other automation controls used in the Oil and Gas sector.

Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.

Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.

Required to travel to client sites as needed

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate field service activities, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation, electrical systems, and automation equipment at client sites.

Lead a team of field technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship, adherence to safety protocols, and timely completion of projects.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop and execute commissioning plans for new installations, upgrades, and system integrations.

Conduct pre-commissioning checks, functional tests, and system validation to ensure equipment and systems meet design specifications and performance requirements.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety guidelines for field service and commissioning activities.

Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Interface with clients to address technical inquiries, resolve issues, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to instrumentation, electrical systems, and automation controls. Monitor project budget and expenses and implement cost control measures to ensure profitability.
