Job Description

L&D RN Days/Eves/Nights Rotate & EOW 36hrs.

1. Unit Name: Labor & Delivery.

2. Brief Unit Description: 25-bed Labor & Delivery Unit which encompasses: L7D, PP, NBN, 2 ORs, 2 ANU rooms, RR.

3. Years of Experience Required: 3 years minimum.

4. Skill Sets Required: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulate, & Newborn Care.

5. Clinician to Patient Ratio: L&D 1:2-3 Evals, 1:1 Active Labor, Magnesium gtt or EPIDURAL. PP 1:3-4.

6. Patient Population: All.

7. Bed Count: 5 LDRs, 12 PP, 2 ORs @ RR, 2 ANU with 4 beds.

8. Census: Average daily census 15-25 mother, babies and labor.

9. EMR (Charting System): EPIC.

10. Floating Required: No.

11. Rotating Shifts Required: Day Rotate position w/ 1 Night of Call is (7a-7p, 11a-11p & 7p-7a). Eves & Nights positions are straight shifts.

12. Certifications Required: Active Massachusetts RN License. BLS, NRP & EFM (every 2 years).

13. Additional Information: ACLS (preferred).
