Hand-eye coordination,
mechanical abilities,
computer skills including Microsoft office,
shipping & receiving
ability to compile data and present in an understandable written format,
math skills including add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, decimal, ratios & measurements,
communication skills,
knowledge of hazardous materials,
operating hand tools,
ability to follow directions,,
ability to solve practical problems,
knowledge of measuring devices such as caliper and micrometers,
knowledge of machinery,
Physical Demands
Ability to constantly: stand, walk, sit, push, pull, reach, grasp, hear, repeat motions, use eye hand and foot coordination, close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, lift 20 pounds
Ability to frequently: stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift 50 to 75 pounds
Able to work in an environment that contains hazardous chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, noise,
Ability to safety handle substances such as oil, acetone, alcohol, and corrosive acids
Ability to use safety protective wear
Goals & Objectives of Position
An entry level technician will perform the following duties as directed:
Assembly of restacks
Assembly and drawing of wire using the tube approach
Billet assembly of various sized cans
Assembly and drawing of sub elements
Clean, polish and inspect dies
Work with engineers to communicate results of testing techniques and materials.
Compile test data for engineers
Maintain all tools in good working condition
Sand and polish samples as needed
Perform lubrication maintained on equipment
Operating the wire drawing machinery and supporting machinery necessary to complete tasks
Operated power and hand tools
Keep the work area clean and safe
Keep machines maintained and in proper working condition
Follow experiment instructions exactly in order to accomplish this goal one needs to know and understand the experiment process, know and identify different materials involved, how to measure for specific quantity or ratio, preparation of materials consisting of cutting, deburring, cleaning, handling hazardous materials
