Senior Financial Modeling and Data Analyst (Hybrid Wash, DC Public Trust)

(Must have ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance)

Salary: $135,000 to $155,000

** Candidates must reside or intend to reside in or near the Washington, DC metropolitan area**.

Strategic Innovations Group, LLC is an 8 (a) Government Contractor based in Arlington, Virginia. We offer technical expertise in Digital Transformation, Data Management/Data Science, and Systems Modernization to federal, state, and commercial marketplaces.

Purpose:

This position supports our newly awarded work with our federal government client, the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

This position performs financial modeling and forecasting financial budgets for over 200 programs, spearheading a shift towards a data-driven decision-making culture.

Direction and Decision Making:

This position reports to SIG's VP of Business Solutions and Senior Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials in continuously improving the FAA's use of Big Data.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the development and maintenance of financial models to support strategic decision-making processes for a client agency under the Department of Transportation

Forecast and analyze financial budgets for over 200 government programs, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial information and insights for effective decision-making.

Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or other enterprise-level data visualization tools.

Drive the implementation of a data-driven decision-making culture within the client organization by promoting the use of analytical tools and techniques.

Train and mentor a team of younger analysts on building and managing financial models, data analysis, and reporting using tools such as Tableau and Power BI.

Ensure data integrity and quality control measures are in place and develop standardized processes for financial modeling and reporting.

Provide strategic recommendations to executive clients based on data analysis and financial modeling to improve operational efficiencies and drive revenue growth.

Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in financial modeling, data analysis, and visualization tools.

Qualification Requirements:

Master's degree and minimum of 11 years relevant experience or

Bachelor's degree and minimum of 15 years relevant experience including ingesting, processing, and transforming a variety of data at scale.

Strong background in financial analysis, excellent managerial and client management skills, and technical proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.

Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail

Open collaborative style; ability to work in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction

Superior information visualization skills

In-depth understanding of organizational data flow and its use in management decision-making

Ability to analyze data using statistical techniques and providing reports

Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

Very strong communication skills including writing and presentation.
