Looking to identify Smart Talent qualified and capable of impacting the growth of Fortune 500 company Opportunity to join a dynamic, global Company, HQ in Reston and be a key advisor on the Corporate Controller Team.

We are looking for an energetic, team player with a strong background in revenue recognition gained through public and corporate accounting experiences.

Role Description and Responsibilities: This position will initially, working with both internal and external resources, be responsible for assisting in the implementation of the new revenue recognition standard.

This will include policy determination, developing new revenue recognition checklist and processes, and related financial reporting.

The position includes ownership of relationships with line finance and project set-up.

This position is expected to be a highly visible and impactful.

The position will support key business partners by ensuring relevant and reliable information on a timely basis.

A successful candidate will be able to collaborate with key stakeholders and bring transparency into revenue accounting and underlying processes and controls.

In addition: * The position will assist in the development of the revenue accounting policy to conform with the new standard * Work actively with external vendors and auditors to ensure that company revenue recognition interpretation and internal revenue guidance are consistent and compliant with GAAP and all technical pronouncements * Develop a framework for implementation of the new standard which includes: o Timeline for implementation o Model for dual tracking o SOX compliant controls * Determine the appropriate revenue recognition metrics to track for external and internal reporting and develop templates or processes to be able to capture the requirements * Provide leadership across finance to grow and mentor through internal trainings both formal and informal * Actively participate in monthly and quarterly close activities including monthly reconciliations of all revenue, and deferred revenue accounts * Support the Controller team with special projects and workflow process improvements Qualifications: Required Education, Skills, and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university and experience of 12+ years overall or Master's degree and 10+ years of experience.

Experience requirement may be reduced by a mixture of experience or relevant certifications.

* Public accounting from a large national firm and/or Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred * Experience dealing with complex revenue arrangements and/or long term percent of completion type contracts is required.

* Active CPA required * Deltek/Costpoint experience preferred * US Citizenship required Key Skills for Success in this Role: * Analytical minded person with ability to understand overall business operations able to quickly pinpoint areas to focus on * Strong focus on process improvements * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (including public speaking skills) * Problem solving and strategizing capabilities
