About the Role

YWCA Canberra Children’s Services School Age Care is offering casual roles for people interested in creating fun education and care environments for children attending our School Age Care Services (before and after school care) in the Canberra region. We provide locations in the South, Inner South, Inner North and North Canberra.

Responsibilities include working within a dedicated team of staff to implement a developmentally appropriate, child-focused program.

About you

Successful applicants will have a can-do attitude, flexible availability, passion for working with children and excellent interpersonal skills. Applicants must hold a valid Working with Vulnerable People Card and a current police check.

Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate:

Skills and experience in the Children’s Services industry

The successful applicant will have strong communication skills, be able to relate to children with genuine respect, empathy and warmth, taking into account any individual cultural or socio-economic differences.

Assist with guiding and assisting children in all activities, ensuring that the highest safety standards are maintained.

Have a passion for working with students who have additional or complex learning needs.
