Director of DOD Business Development

Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to expand our presence within the Department of Defense.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including contracts, task orders, and subcontracts, in alignment with company goals and objectives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including DOD officials, prime contractors, and industry partners.

Lead the capture process for major DOD contracts, from opportunity identification and qualification to proposal submission and contract award.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and engineering, to develop winning proposals and solutions that meet client needs.

Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitive intelligence to inform business strategies and decision-making.

Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote our capabilities and identify new business opportunities.

Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on business development activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, with a focus on government contracting and the Department of Defense.

Proven track record of success in winning and executing DOD contracts, with a strong understanding of the federal procurement process.

Deep knowledge of the DOD market, including agency structure, acquisition policies, and budget priorities.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic business plans and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Active security clearance (preferred) or ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required
