The team is responsible for business development with German and Austrian wholesale clients and prospects (banks, saving banks, Family offices, Insurances, Fund of Fund Managers, etc.). abrdn manages in total 33bn EUR for German and Austrian clients and we belong to the largest non-domestic asset managers in the market. We sell the whole product range of abrdn. You would be part of a team that is essential for abrdn and as such Distribution (including this role i.e. Sales Support Manager / Team Assistant) is a department that is continuing to grow.

About the role

The Sales Support Manager will be responsible for reporting and assisting the team in their day-to-day business to ensure they can focus on servicing clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing telephone, administrative, and general sales support that enables sales representatives to pursue new business.

Coordinating meetings

Preparing reports and analyses

Organising presentation for meetings

Dealing with pro-active as well as reactive calls from clients

Setting up and maintenance of client lists to be used for different occasions such as events.

Creating agendas for meetings

Helping out in organising BD events alongside with Marketing

Providing client service – sending standard information such as factsheets to clients

Emailing – answering to standard client requests.

Liaising with different departments such as Legal and Investment Teams

General administrative duties like travel booking and expenses.

Proofreading of texts or presentations

Salesforce requests (e.g. for RFPs, presentations, statements, ...)

Budget Control/Maintenance/Overview

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Knowledge of MS Teams and or similar video conferencing tool

Knowledge of MS Office programs (in particular: Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

A good team player

Persuading/Influencing

Fluent in English and German

Attention to detail

Drive for results

Strong customer focus

Excellent communication skills

Good interpersonal skills

Moreover, we recognise that supplementary skills beyond the minimum criteria can greatly enhance your success in this position. These skills are:

Familiarity with CRM systems; knowledge of Salesforce

Product/Market Knowledge

Qualification / professional experience:

Experience in the financial sector

understanding of financial markets and fund products.

Strong organizational skills

Excellent communication skills in German and English

High motivation to deliver on-going support to BDMs/BDEs

Basic experience with events for clients and prospects

Proficiency in MS office

Languages:

German, English (both fluent)
