Description:

Who we are: At Swissblock, we are not only at the forefront of innovation in the world of cryptocurrencies but also enjoying every step of our journey to become a private cross-asset wealth manager.

Experienced portfolio managers and traders have joined us with the shared vision of making a mark in traditional finance.

We are seeking an operations professional to bring passion and structure to lay the foundations of a new company branch.

Our mission is to ensure we assemble a group of experts and build a solid team while launching the business.

We are partnering with the best solution providers to make the execution and post-trading workflow as transparent and efficient as possible.

The overarching goal is to simplify communication and allow our key resources to focus together on problem-solving whilst considering automation.

What you’ll be doing: As an Operations Associate, you will be responsible for: - Supporting portfolio managers and execution traders.

Your duties include trade capture, reconciliation, positions and trade query resolution, ad-hoc reporting, settlement, compressions, collapses and corporate actions.

- Gathering a detailed understanding of upcoming trading strategy updates and anticipating operative impact and needs.

- Build and maintain solid relationships with external third-party vendors, ensuring our business expansion roadmap is understood and reflected in quality and efficiency.

- Managing all related layers of complexity involved in daily positions and cash reconciliation.

- Ensuring consistency of information in OMS to ensure the reliability of marked-to-market PnL.

- Reviewing, improving and documenting existing procedures to secure and smoothen all aspects of trading and the post-trading workflow.

- Implement and monitor all required operational key risk and process indicators to identify, communicate and solve all related issues.

You will also be interfacing with: - The technology team, to improve workflow and reporting automation and increase scalability.

- Our compliance team, particularly with the maintenance of automated order filtering and management of exceptions.

- Treasury activity (collateral and cash equivalent management) to always allow portfolio managers and executing traders to operate safely.

- Pricing and valuation review flow, focusing on easing communication through common data standards and understanding.

What you’ll bring: We are seeking someone with five to ten years of hands-on experience in an operational role at a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or bank, covering a cross-asset universe that includes OTC products in rates, credit, and FX, as well as listed products (such as futures and cash equities). Working knowledge of Markit MTM, DTCC, ICE link, Trade Web, and Bloomberg AIM would be a strong plus.

This is a role for someone who not only wants to follow procedures but for someone with a marked self-starter attitude and desire to position themself as a future pillar and potential leader of a rising team.

New procedures must be designed and implemented to best compromise between flexibility and risk control in a dynamically changing environment.

To leave a fingerprint, a candidate should show exceptional organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of quality.

Being practical and thorough under pressure will make you stand out.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for establishing and maintaining trust-based relationships and correctly balancing leadership with active team life.

Applicants must have business fluency in English; proficiency in German would be a strong asset.

Finally, excellent computer skills with an ability to quickly learn new applications and proprietary systems will be key to increasing the level of automation, containing time allocated to recursive tasks and allowing for better focus on all manually involved aspects.

Why you should apply: At Swissblock, we offer an exciting and diverse environment with flat hierarchies and excellent peers.

Even if we are young, we are a self-funded and profitable company with a culture based on responsibility and merit.

Empowerment is a key value that is reflected in our career opportunities dynamics, which continuously grow with the business.

In addition to a sleek and cutting-edge office in Baar, Switzerland, with the flexibility to work from your home office once a week, we propose a competitive compensation package, an annual bonus, 25 days of annual leave, progressive social benefits, and engaging company events.
