Overview

Axle is seeking a highly ambitious, adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented Scientific Program Manager to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Division of Clinical Research (DCR) / Office of the Director (OD).

Technical Requirements:

Participate as directed in teaching science writing to NIAID collaborators living and working in less developed countries.

Provide assistance to scientists in manuscript writing for NIAID supported research.

For scientific meetings, assist speakers and presenters in development and polishing of written and spoken content (but not design, images, layout etc.) for posters, PowerPoint presentations, and talks on NIAID supported collaborative research

Develop specialized materials covering highly complex subject matter areas for various purposes and audiences.

Provide advice and conduct reviews of materials prepared by other NIAID division staff.

Develop scientific and technical materials regarding DCR’s research programs and activities as well as scientific accomplishments.

Assist NIAID collaborators in special projects write and submit grant applications.

Specific Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably Master’s or PhD, in a scientific or language-related field (e.g., English or other languages, linguistics)

Three (3) years experience writing or editing scientific or technical material, preferably in medicine or biology.
