Architectural Job Captain

Community Architecture is a Sacramento architectural firm that specializes in the design of California K-12 schools within our region. A Job Captain will possess knowledge of the facilities and the factors that support our California K-12 education clients. Interested applicants must have a command of the planning / design, drawing / production, agency review, bidding and construction administration processes, and the ability to develop and manage each step as a part of the team or on an individual basis based upon the complexities of the project, their personal skills, and their desire to grow.

A Job Captain can expect to receive training and mentoring in support of their career path with guidance from licensed and experienced senior staff. The scope of our K-12 work is varied and provides opportunities to gain experience and professional growth in every aspect of the profession.

We plan for success and will compensate accordingly with an annualized salary range of $105K to $115K plus health care and 401K benefits. This is an hourly position subject to state overtime regulations however, we plan well and manage our time so that we can maintain a reasonable work / life balance.

Education and General Experience:

A 5-year accredited degree in Architecture plus a minimum of 5 years of work experience in K-12 projects is preferred. An applicant who lacks an accredited degree will be given consideration based upon their overall experience in excess of the minimum.

Working toward licensure is a plus.

Essential Skills:

Interpersonal, Oral and Written Communication.

Proficiency in Revit.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop and other presentation tools are a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.

Specific Experience:

Planning and Design.

Code Analysis.

Project Cost Estimating and Scheduling.

Client and Consultant Interface and Coordination.

Construction Documents; Plans, Details and Specifications.

Agency (State and Local) Review and Approval.

Bidding Administration.

Construction Administration.
